Learning Resources: POP for Word Families Game Review & Giveaway!

You may remember my previous post on the amazing products from Learning Resources. Learning Resources is a leading global manufacturer of innovative, hands-on educational products trusted by teachers and parents and loved by children. The Company’s 1100+ high-quality products are sold in more than 80 countries, serving children and their families, preschool, kindergarten, primary, and middle-school markets.

I am so passionate about making learning fun for my kids. The great products from Learning resources make that goal easy for me to achieve! We recently received the POP for Word Families game for review. This game is literacy practice that students will love! Pull out a popcorn piece and create a word with that ending. A POP kernel means all your pieces go back! Start with 2-letter endings, then move up to 3-letter endings and rhyming practice. Includes 92 word family cards, 8 POP cards, spinner and guide (printed on box). Measures 3L x 3W x 6¼H”. For 2-4 players. For grades 1+. Priced at $9.99

My kids were instantly intrigued by the appearance of this game– it has such a cute design! The popcorn box is filled with little popcorn shaped cardboard game pieces. Each player spins and then they pick a piece of popcorn. Each popcorn piece has either a beginning or ending word family. Spin a 1, 2 or 3 on the spinner. If you spin a number 1 you will try to make 1 word using your beginning or ending word sound.  If a player pulls out a piece of popcorn that says POP, then that players puts all their popcorn pieces back in and has to start over. Collect popcorn pieces by creating the correct number of words with the sound pieces. To win the game you must have the most popcorn pieces. What a fun way to teach word families!

In addition to the POP for Word Families game, Learning Resources also has POP for Sight Word Game, POP for Letters Game and POP for Blends game.
