SodaStream Review

I love soda, I mean really love the bubbly deliciousness! My whole family enjoys soda and the carbonated flavored waters as well. So needless to say when we were give the chance to try a SodaStream home soda maker, we were so excited. I had heard of SodaStream but was not exactly sure how it worked and what all making soda at home entailed.

Easy to use:

  • Save space with concentrated sodamix and reusable carbonating bottles
  • No more lugging and storing heavy, bulky bottles and cans
  • No more hassles with empties in the trash or recycling bin
  • No batteries, no electricity, no plumbing
  • Over 60 flavors at the touch of a button

I was impressed how easy the SodaStream is to use.

  1. Fill the One liter bottle with cold water to just under the fill line.
  2. Attach bottle to SodaStream machine – The bottle easily screws into the base.
  3. Carbonating the Soda – Press and release the button on top of the SodaStream machine quickly until you hear three loud buzzes (you can do more or less according to desired carbonation)
  4. Measure a cap full of your favorite flavor, and pour into the liter bottle slowly (tilt the bottle for best results while doing this step)
  5. Place the SodaStream cap onto the bottle and gently mix.

Great Value & Eco-friendly:

I love the idea of making soda at home especially when it is cost effective and better for the environment! One bottle of their syrup can make 12 liters of soda (about 33 cans!) for around 25 cents per 12-ounce can.

Sodastream is an “active-green” company which means every time a SodaStream user uses the homemade soda maker instead of purchasing soda from a store, they are reducing their CO2 footprint.

Less plastic is manufactured with a SodaStream vs. buying bottled soda in store.  Making your own soda at home means less package waste, and less pollution from plastic bottles.

Carbonators are available 130 liters and 60 liters.

I was a bit skeptical about how the home made soda would actually taste. I am somewhat picky about the taste of certain soda. I dislike the taste of most store band soda. With that said, the first taste of the orange soda we made I very pleasantly surprised how great it tasted! We also loved the Diet Cola, Cola, Ginger Ale and Lemon Lime flavors. My kids especially loved the Root Beer!

With a SodaStream home soda maker and over 60 delicious regular, diet and caffeine-free sodamix flavors to choose from, you’ll enjoy freshly made, great tasting soda that fits your health and diet. Regular flavors contain no high-fructose corn syrup, and diet flavors are sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener, not aspartame.

You can now also purchase Country Time, Crystal Light, Energy Drink, Sparkling Naturals, Sparkling Teas and Sparkling Water flavor varieties.

A full list of nutritional value of each flavor is listed on their website.

In conclusion, my entire family thoroughly enjoyed using the SodaStream home soda maker.  I highly recommend it to anyone looking to become more eco-friendly and wanting to save money too.  Along with those great factors, the taste and quality of the soda made with the SodaStream is identical to that found in the stores.  The ease of use makes it all come together for a great product, and a new SodaStream customer for life!
