Valentine’s M&M’s Filled Plastic Bottle Treats
I heart Valentine’s Day… I mean how great is it that an entire day is dedicated to love.. and chocolate. I believe cabin fever has officially set in here at my house so today the kids and I decided to put together a few Valentine’s Day goodies. We have been tossing around treat ideas for Luke to hand out at his preschool Valentine’s Day party. After much debate, we came up with these super easy and cute Valentine’s M&M’s filled plastic bottle treats for kids and grown-ups alike.
Here is what we used:
1 bag of Valentine’s M&M’s
1 (4 oz) plastic bottle
Valentine’s themed ribbon
Elhmer’s glue stick
This was a quick and inexpensive little project that the kids had fun helping with… and eating. You could use any plastic bottles that have been cleaned and dried– glass bottles would work great as well. We filled ours with M&M’s but any small candy or nuts would work too. I created a simple label using my favorite photo editing software and trimmed the edges with craft scissors. The label was attached with a bit of glue– I tried transparent tape but I was not crazy about the way it looked. The finishing touch was tying a ribbon around the lid. Easy peasey!
We used “marvelous” and “magnificent” to represent our “m” in M&M’s but there are so many cute ideas for candy sayings. Here are a few I found at Creating Really Awesome Free Things:
- We’re mint to be– mints
- You’re a great catch– Swedish fish
- You’re extra special to me– Extra chewing gum
- You’re a great catch– Goldfish crackers
- I like you beary much– Teddy Grahams
- You rock, valentine– Pop Rocks, rock candy
- You krack me up– Krackel mini chocolate bars
- I like the way you roll– Rolos
The possibilities and endless… and fun! So what are you and your kiddos creating for Valentin’es Day this year?
