This week we feature an even simpler way to preserve foods — Food Dehydration. Food dehydration is one of the oldest and easiest methods of preserving foods. You really don’t need many skills to pull this one off… just the right equipment!

    Oh my gosh! I want this so, soooo bad! I have a horrible dehydrator and sometimes it takes THREE says to dehydrate foods! I would do our fruit chips, and kale crisps that my son loves, and make a bunch of MRE’s for us just in case of loss of power, etc. I also like to make my own pectin, jerky, fruit leather, etc. Crossing my fingers! Hope to win!!

    It sounds weird, but yesterday I just tried dehydrated pineapples & they were so yummy!

  37. My favorite fruit that I would dehydrate would be strawberries! I’ve been wanting to get a dehydrator for a LONG time to make healthier snacks for my family, but it isn’t in our budget.

  48. well, because i am completely awesome and live in southwest florida, in my yard, i have several banana trees, a plantain tree, a mango tree, an orange tree, a lemon tree, and a blueberry bush. i’ll be dehydrating plenty!
